Concrete Floor Leveling Richmond BC

Our crew was working on some concrete floor leveling work for a project in Richmond.

If you have ever walked on floors that seemed like they move or creaked, it's likely due to the fact that the sub floor they were installed on wasn't perfectly level. Building code requirements have changed since most sub floors were installed previously. This is why most floor installers will void their warranty if they install floors on sub floors that haven't received proper work. Concrete floor leveling is a requirement if you are looking to get any sort of renovation work done on your floors. A flooring installer may be able to do leveling work on a smaller surface such as a bathroom but anything larger should be done by a professional concrete floor leveling contractor. Not only will your floors be installed perfectly once we finish with your concrete slab, it'll help to make sure you home doesn't lose its value. If a potential buyer sees a floor that is uneven, that is a major red flag for them and will decrease your property value accordingly. This is on top of any costs you might incur for getting your floor redone if it wasn't level the first time around. This isn't the time to cut corners, hiring a professional concrete floor leveling expert is the right move.

Concrete Leveling Richmond

Getting your concrete slab leveled before flooring work is essential as it is required by building codes. When we work on your home, we will make sure we set guidelines on the exact specs you need for your leveling work. Our concrete floor leveling process is as follows. We start with prep work which is where we set up the site. We make sure any areas that dust could enter are properly sealed and your baseboards are taped off. To ensure there is good airflow throughout, a dust control system is put in place for ventilation purposes.

Once the site is prep, we use a grinder to get rid of any impurities that are on the sub floor. This can consist of dirt, bacteria, grime, paint, and drywall. These impurities are removed to make sure the bond to any flooring materials is properly made and remains strong for years to come. The next step is to vacuum the floors to ensure the concrete slab has nothing remaining  on it. During this step, we also inspect the surface for cracks or any damages. If any is found, caulking is done for cracks while damaged surfaces are patched up.

Now the surface is ready to be sealed for a primer. This also helps to establish the bond between the subfloor and the flooring material that will be used. Once the primer is dried, the concrete is then poured. After working in this industry for many years, our team has formed a process where we are able to pour the concrete at a fast pace. This allows for the end product to dry together and remain level as one unit on your surface.

The self leveling compound will now begin to dry and as that is drying, our team makes sure the floor is level with lasers and a straight edge. We also check to make sure everything lines up with the specs we discussed about before the project. To finish things off, we scrape any concrete drips and cut any spray foam that remains.

Our team has provided concrete floor leveling services to many homeowners and contractors for years. We know how to leave a concrete slab in the perfect condition for which ever party may be working on it next. While we mostly focus on concrete slabs, our team is more than capable of working with wooden sub floors as well. If you are thinking of renovating your floors, make sure you get concrete floor leveling done by a professional to ensure your floors are installed to perfection.
